Michi Sugawara became President and CEO of Fujitsu Frontech North America (FFNA) on June 24, 2014 with a broad history of both technical and senior management experiences throughout the world. Prior to coming to FFNA, Michi was Head of the Global Portfolio Management Unit of Fujitsu headquarters in Tokyo, where he was in charge of establishing a single Global Portfolio across the Fujitsu Group. As part of portfolio management, he was managing programs to build Global solutions and services within Fujitsu.
While he may look quite young, Michi is a 30 year veteran joining Fujitsu in 1985 in the mainframe system group focusing on the Oceania markets. He initiated and drove the Unix system business in the 1990s for international markets and has extensive knowledge in the Open system business segment.
From 1996 to 2000, Michi took an overseas assignment in Sydney where he helped Fujitsu Australia transform their product oriented company into a services oriented company, with key focus on ramping up their data center and desktop managed services businesses.
In 2001, Michi returned to Fujitsu Headquarters in Japan where he initiated and established a Global solutions and services portfolio by leveraging partnerships with global vendors such as SAP, Microsoft, and Salesforce.com in conjunction with strengthening Fujitsu Global Delivery Centers, especially Indian GDC. More recently, he has been driving global programs for vertical industries such as defense, automotive, banking/equity regulation, etc.
Mr. Sugawara has extensive business experiences and expertise in a broad range of solutions including System Integration services, SAP, Salesforce.com, Datacenter services, End User services/Global Mobile services, Cloud Computing services, Legacy Modernization, Offshore services.
Michi earned his Bachelor of Business and Commerce at Keio University in Tokyo, Japan. He also received Master’s degree in Management at McGill University in Montreal, Canada after completed the International Masters in Practicing Management.
Mahito Mori joins the FFNA team with extensive experience in US, international and multinational companies. Mr. Mori’s 16 years in the US includes positions at Amdahl, DMR Consulting, Fujitsu America and, most recently, Fujitsu Computer Products of America where he was CFO, a member of the board and Corporate Secretary. Mr. Mori’s international experiences include positions in Fujitsu Limited in Japan in both Finance and Corporate Strategy Office, as well as a 2 year assignment in Corporate Finance at Fujitsu ICL in London. Mr. Mori earned his bachelor degree in Business Administration from Kobe University in 1987. Mr. Mori has a wife and 2 daughters.
Richard (Dick) Zarski has been with Fujitsu for over twenty years and is Vice President of Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Logistics for Fujitsu Frontech North America (FFNA). With over 25 years experience in high technology industries, he brings a strong mix of new product launch, manufacturing, supply chain and logistics management, quality and service parts logistics experience to his role. He brings a wealth of industry knowledge and management experience to his role in the company.
Mr. Zarski has particular strength and focus in logistics process and quality. He is responsible for ISO 9001:2000 certification for FFNA, and they have received numerous Best Practice nominations by external auditors BSI and DNV. This dedication to quality aligns well with his commitment to operational excellence for our customers. Operationally, he has successfully implemented Toyota Production System (TPS) processes in FFNA’s manufacturing operations.
Additionally he was responsible for the launch of a new Reverse Logistics Operation for Fujitsu America which has driven considerable improvements and efficiencies in the supply of parts to its customers and service organization.
Mr. Zarski is also Co-Chairman of the Fujitsu North American Logistics Committee charged with streamlining North American logistics practices within the United States and the world, which has resulted in significant savings to Fujitsu North American operating companies.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Distribution Management from the Syracuse University. He lives in Southern California with his wife. Mr. Zarski has two sons, one that lives in New York State and the other in Southern California.
